The 2024 (59th) Annual Meeting of the Ichthyological Society of Japan (ISJ) will be held as an on-site meeting at Fukuoka Institute of Technology University, Fukuoka, Japan, from 6–9 September, 2024.

1. The presenter must be an individual member (regular, student, foreign or sustaining) of ISJ, having paid a membership fee for the 2024 fiscal year (i.e., from 1 August 2024 to 31 July 2025) for the new ISJ as a general incorporated association.
2. Participants may apply for either an oral or a poster presentation.
3. The oral presenters have 15 minutes in total (including ca. three minutes for the question and answer session) for their presentation. The presenters can use either a PowerPoint or PDF file. Movies are conditionally acceptable with PowerPoint.
4. The oral presenters cannot use their personal computers—the computers (Win) prepared by the organizing committee must be used. The oral presenters must operate PowerPoint or Acrobat by themselves—the organizing committee does not operate them.
5. The oral presenters must copy the data from their PowerPoint/PDF file onto the computers in the venue using a USB flash memory drive or similar device. The file name of PowerPoint/PDF should be: “Register number of presentation” and “presenter’s name” connected by a hyphen, followed by the file extension (e.g., 012-Toyotomi.pptx, 012-Toyotomi.ppt or 012-Toyotomi.pdf).
6. The size of on-site posters should not exceed 85 cm in width and 175 cm in height. Thumbtacks and other fixtures will be prepared by the organizing committee. The posters should be set up in the designated space during the forenoon of 7 September and presented for two days (7–8 September). The title and the author’s name and affiliation should be clearly displayed in the uppermost portion of the poster.
7. The odd-numbered and even-numbered on-site posters should be attended by the presenters on 7 and 8 September, respectively, during the “core time” (13:30–14:30). The oral session will not be held during this period.
8. Online posters should be no more than 3 pages in PDF files. There are no restrictions on the shape of the poster, but posters should be designed to be viewed on a screen. Files other than PDF files, such as video and audio files, cannot be uploaded. Please include an email address in your poster so that the questioner can contact presenters. Please send your presentation PDF files to the representative of the organizing committee (Dr. Norio Onikura; isj-nenkai2024@fish-isj.jp) by e-mail.
   *Deadline for submission for the presentation PDF files: 2 Sept. 2024, 17:00 (JST, GMT+9:00).
9. The registered number of presentations will be communicated to the participants by the organizing committee after the application deadline has passed.
10. No photography, recording, or copying of the presentations is allowed.

1. If the presentation includes two or more authors, the presenter should be marked by an asterisk.
2. The author’s name should be followed by their affiliation in parentheses.
3. The title, the author’s name and affiliation, and the main text should be provided on separate lines, with a single empty line in between.
4. The following tags are available:

5. The character limit of the abstract, including the title and the author names and affiliations is 1504 (i.e., 94 characters by 16 lines). Please note that the empty lines are included in the character counts.
